Kaejema is a groove band from Vancouver, BC, Canada. Whether they are on stage or at home, the music takes on a life of itself, free to merge influences and ideas into shapes and forms where there is groove, passion and intuition. Music has many sides. It recreates itself on a steady basis, as people grow, as the world changes. Every part of life contains a musical pathway. The art, is in the way we decide to see and hear. Kaejema plays music out of a love for the melodies and harmonies in sound and rhythm; the tones of everyday life... To listen and express, explore and connect. Kaejema features Tim Townsend on Melodic Guitar(& Vocals), Kit Soden on Rhythm Guitar(& Vocals), Math Roberge on Bass and James Labbe on Drums. Their performance is filled with funky, danceable instrumentals, with lots energy and strong rhythm. The music is constantly evolving, and each piece does not get performed in the exact same way twice. Being listeners of many types of music, and intrigued with the way styles fuse, the boys are known for having a large and diverse portfolio of original material. Kaejema’s members sum up their style as ‘funkdubjazz’, although audiences have found that even this broad genre description does not fully capture the variety of styles and influences that the band brings to the stage.
